Subject: Error in Symphony (in Lotus Notes 8.5) when saving a document
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Symphony Productivity editors
Technical Area: Error Message
Platform: Windows XP client
Release: 8.5
Reproducible: Always

Hi

I have a user that uses Lotus Symphony (installed with the Notes 8.5 client) for "office" documents.

It has worked Ok for a while, however, now she has started getting an error message that seems to be pretty consistent.

When she creates a new document and saves it, she gets an error message:

An error occurred while loading BASIC of document file:///DOCUME~1/BIRGIT~1/LOCALS~1/APPLIC~1/Lotus/Notes/Data/WORKSP~1/.sodc/user/basic/Standard/script.xlb/
You may try again, but the file may be corrupted or damaged.

This error seems to have been addressed in the version 1 and 1.2 of the standalone versions of Symphony. From other posts in this forum I understand that the embedded version of Symphony is version 1.2, i.e. the same fixes should be in the embedded version (I assume).

Following the guides from some of the articles described on symphony.lotus.com, (e.g. http://symphony.lotus.com/software/lotus/symphony/documentsForum.nsf/0/1254FA7B2B09BAA1852574E7006F2B1A?open - with another file name in the error message, but the same experience), we have tried to remove the directories from /Lotus/.... in the error message. But that solves nothing. And when the error occurs there are no files in the specified directory (and then of course no script.xlb file).

We have two identical PCs installed at the same time with the same options - but only the one fails.

Any ideas....?

Thank you in advance.
